Kim received her Bachelor of Laws from the University of Manitoba and has practiced law in Winnipeg since 1989. She joined the firm of Duboff Edwards Haight & Schachter as a partner in 2004.
Her work is primarily in the areas of Indigenous Law, Governance, Economic Development, Corporate Law, Wills and Estates, as well as commercial and residential transactions. Along with her work in Winnipeg and northern Manitoba, Kim also practices in the Territory of Nunavut, with an emphasis on project development, land transactions, governance and treaty negotiations.
A frequent lecturer, Kim has presented for the Manitoba Bar Association, the Law Society of Manitoba, the Law Society of Nunavut, the Manitoba Real Estate Association and elsewhere.
Kim is a Past Chair of the Aboriginal Law Section of the Manitoba Bar Association; of the Canada Pension Plan/Old Age Security Review Tribunal; and the Discipline Committee of the Law Society of Nunavut. She provided many years of service offering peer support for the Canadian Cancer Society. She currently sits as a Commissioner for the Workers Compensation Appeal Commission and is a director and chair of the Governance Committee for the Winnipeg Airports Authority.
