Jonathan Paterson


Jonathan joined Duboff Edwards Haight and Schachter in 2017 as a Summer Law Student. He is currently in the final year of the Juris Doctor program at the University of British Columbia’s Peter A. Allard School of Law. Upon graduation Jonathan will be returning to the firm as an Articling Student.

Prior to attending law school Jonathan obtained his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Winnipeg. Jonathan was awarded the gold medal in the International Development Studies program, granted annually to the student with the highest grade point average in the graduating class.

Jonathan is a dedicated and active member of the Allard School of Law community. He currently volunteers in the school’s peer tutoring program, and he is an executive of the advocacy group Students for Mining Justice. In 2018 he was a clinician in the law school’s International Justice and Human Rights Clinic, and is currently a member of the Laskin Moot Team. He is the recipient of the B Vincent Reed QC Award for academic distinction and community service, and the David Roberts Prize in Legal Writing.
