Jonathan Paterson


Jonathan commenced his articles with Duboff Edwards Schachter in June 2019 and became an associate after his call to the bar in Manitoba in June of 2020. He is a graduate of the University of British Columbia’s Peter A. Allard School of Law.

Prior to attending law school Jonathan obtained his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Winnipeg. Jonathan graduated from the International Development Studies program and was awarded the gold medal for highest grade point average in the graduating class.

While at UBC Jonathan was a dedicated and active member of the Allard Law community. He volunteered in the school’s peer tutoring program and was an executive of the advocacy group Students for Mining Justice. In 2018 he was a clinician in the International Justice and Human Rights Clinic and this past year was a member of the Laskin Moot Team. He is the recipient of the B Vincent Reed QC Award for academic distinction and community service, the David Roberts Prize in Legal Writing, and the Blake Cassels & Graydon Prize in Labour Law.
